28/12/2004 It has become patently clear to me that a day or two off will not be sufficient. So today I have booked tickets to get myself down to Christchurch tomorrow. This will allow me to head back to my shoe shop and my podiatrist then head back home for long enough to get my feet ready to continue adventuring - hopefully less than a week. My left heel particularly is in bad shape and is a deep wound rather than a blister really. While it is not bleeding now as it was on Christmas Day it is cripplingly painful from the moment I put shoes on. It will be good to get this sorted out and I will get to see my Mum in Christchurch to reassure her. Then back home to Blenheim to recuperate where of course I can spend time with Linda who is moving into our new home tomorrow.
